Although that Spanish disc has an overall great image transfer there is a problem with the height of the image (it's too short making everyone look odd).

Serious fault.

I've been waiting for this Robert Altman classic myself. It's on my wish list. Sorry I can't help with any release info, but the moment I hear, I will create a thread on this site.

A great movie that I don't think ever got a wide theatrical release. I saw it in the theater, and watched the VHS many years ago with a friend, and I swear the VHS had some scenes edited out. Anyone know if that was the case?

...erm... the disc features the original English stereo soundtrack - of course!!! - as well as a Spanish dub and a Catalan dub...

...erm... how can the disc have "an overall great image transfer" and yet at the same time have "a problem with the height of the image" - make up your mind! (NOTE: I haven't seen the disc, but I haven't seen this "serious fault" mentioned anywhere, either!)

Yes, ignorant guesswork is very easy behind your PC.

...I wasn't guessing - I was commenting - quite reasonably so - on your contradictory comments regarding the transfer... learn to read!

I'm not sure how you can comment validly on something you are completely ignorant about (you don't own the DVD).

I'll give you another exampIe of a positive thing with some negative elements (even though I can still claim it's good). I could say the USA invasion of Iraq has been sucessful 'overall' even though American soldiers are being killed on a daily basis.

So, it's sucessful overall but not for the parents/family of those soldiers.

If that doesn't explain my comments for you I'm not sure anything will.

I've got an extra copy of the Spanish DVD, if anyone is looking for it shipped from the US (email me directly). Walter is right in that the height of the image is slightly off, but it didn't affect my enjoyment the one time I watched it.
