Bride of Re-Animator: How many versions of this film on DVD?

I know of the OOP version, which goes for around $25.00 on eBay and whatnot. While searching for a "bargin" for this DVD, I found the following auction...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=41560

...is there something that I haven't heard about, and this film is getting re-released?

Which version is the version to get?

Artisan is releasing a version on 8/19/03. I don't know about the bonus materials but don't expect much. MSRP is only $14.98 and Deep Discount is selling it for $7.97. That's a bargian if I ever heard of one.

artisan is releasing a featureless, full screen version in august.

The out of print pioneer special edition is the one to get. it has a plethora of extras, plus it has a matting option. Black Bars or no black bars. Up to you.

Note: Artisan distributed the pioneer special edition originally. So they look doubly as dumb as they are re-releasing the film featureless.

Booooo artisan.

The new release is going to be suckola... Avoid it.

The previous release is a lesser degree of suckola. Sorry. (extras schmextras)

Please, someone get this title and give it a nice new anamorphic transfer. Please. I promise, I'll buy it.

I picked up the Pioneer version shrinkwrapped from an Amazon dealer for 20 bucks. You may want to check that out.

Also, with the option of full frame or the matte, I find myself watching the full frame version. On both my peice of crap old tv and computer monitor, the matte version leaves a few centimeters of the frame above and below the black matting in view (sorry if my film vocabulary is lacking). In short, you can see the frame above and below the matte, which is really annoying. I know you can fix this by playing with your dvd player, but unlike most people it doesn't bother me enough to fool around with it. I'd rather just watch it full frame, since it isn't "panning and scanning", I am not missing anything.

The extras aren't a big deal either. And the sound is awful. AAAAAND the movie doesn't quite live up to the original. I say buy the new version if you have to see it, it is much cheaper.
