I seen this over at imdb.com, here's the link so you can read it (it also has some crappy news about a bootleg Matrix Reloaded)

Fox execs, however, said that the quickly produced movie was an attempt to exploit the popularity of the series while it is still fresh in the minds of audiences -- as is the quick release of the DVD.

Well, duh, but something about that is funny anyway. Maybe it's the word "exploit" that makes me laugh.

"FJTK" on DVD? Which is exactly where it should have gone first anyway.

Well I didn't know what kind of acting Kelly and Justin were capable of and I wasn't too sure about the plot of the movie but now that I've seen it, they did a great job and the music/choreoprahy in it are great.
The plot was typical of a romantic comedy but with the musical element added in, it makes a good mindless fun flick.
PS : Kelly is HOT in this movie lol

I went to Texas and was making fun of Kelly and Justin and some rednecks in Kelly Clarkson's family held a gun to my head and forced me to watch the darn movie...
Well at least they didn't force me to watch the family's pastime (NASCAR).

I just want to stop the conversation one moment and thank mcbg1 for the memories and the laughter. For me, this thread will go down with "FOX is IN!!!!" and "DIVX is DEAD!!!!" in terms of notoriety and pleasant giddy feelings.
No I haven't seen FJ2K. No I won't see it, either. But I won't badmouth the film. (Although as of last Saturday, I now have official recourse to badmouth Glitter, but that's another thread.) I have nothing against Ms. Clarkson or MJ in the Afro wig, but the sort of disposable flash-in-the-pan pop that American Idol personifies isn't my bag of weenies.

Hmmm.... I posted this in the DVDTALK forum because I thought it would spark discussion about the theatrical to video release window, not the merits of the movie. I mean c'mon 6 weeks after it's in theaters? Even Sony waits at least 3 months for there Bombs to go to DVD.
Now about the film
I will be defintely seeing this in theaters, it looks like a "Grease for the New Millenium"
and FOX can qoute me on that & put it all over the DVD cover
& I haven't seen a movie on the Big Screen since 1999 (The Haunting)

Actually, according to the trades this morning, theater owners were not very happy about that short a window and many refused to play it....
It'll now be released in September...
