Happiness vs Happiness?
Anyone know of any possible differences between Trimark's current edition of Happiness and the upcoming Lion's Gate DVD? The new one appears to be anamorphic, I guess...

The Lions Gate release on 6/3 is part of the Signature Series line, but nothing has been announced yet other than that it will have a new anamorphic transfer. I would also be willing to bet that the sound gets an upgrade to 5.1. Todd Solondz has never done a commentary before, and Happiness has always been unrated so I doubt that there is any new footage to add in. The Trimark release has a trailer; hopefully there will be more than that in the rerelease.

Well damn. I have the Trimark version but I haven't watched it in a while (the movie is a knockout, a true masterpiece, but difficult to take down). As I remember it is a very dialogue-driven movie, so I suppose Lions Gate couldn't justify the time/energy/cost to put a better track on the disc.

It is announced as anamorphic...

The current letterbox version would only make Indiana Jones happy because it's ARTIFACT CITY.
