As the title states,I am interested in info on The 47 Ronin Parts 1&2. I am more interested in the quality of the transfer/sound/extras of the DVD then a straight moview review, but any info would be great!
Thanks!

I saw it when it first came out and haven't dropped it back in the player since then From what I recall it wasn't too bad considering the age of the film. Two things of note though. First there are NO extras Second, this is a mild spoiler so stop reading if you don't want to know, there is very little about the "raid" itself. It's not an action movie it's a drama about the events before and after the raid. The only mention of the raid itself is a letter one of the characters reads...
However, if you like the genre or like the "story" of the 47 Ronin then it is worth getting. Since I don't think it's on sale anywhere, try renting it somewhere first and give it a spin.
FYI

You may want to get Chushingura (1962) instead. Like the previous post mentioned, it's mainly a drama film. But in Chushingura, the raid at the end is simply spectacular and has me all jumpy. I pray for the success of their mission and by the end, I was in tear for the display of bravery and a little thing called dignity. Oh yeah, Toshiro Mifune is in the film. This movie also gets better on the 2nd viewing.
