I bought this movie sight unseen mainly because of Trevor Rabin's involvement in the film. You see, I am a big fan of Yes and he not only wrote some of the score, but he appears in the film. I'm glad I bought it, even without that reason.
This is a good Christmastime family movie. It will make you laugh and it will make you cry, and even give your system a jolt with some nice surround effects. The picture, as is usual with the lower price WB releases is not anamorphic, but its acceptable. I don't want to give away anything about the film, but there are some great effects from Jim Henson's studio and ILM.
No snowmen were harmed in the making of this motion picture.

I nearly killed myself laughing when I thought of what sort of hallucinogenic substances the producers of this film must have been ingesting to think that a kid's dead father coming back to life as a snowman was a good idea.

While I haven't seen the movie, you should check out Ebert's review--so funny and angry disgusted it almost makes me wanna go rent it!
Evidentally, he thinks this snowman ranks as one of the all-time most hateful and repulsive special effects creatures ever devised...
