When I pop in a CD into my DVD player -- don't ask why -- I hear a slight echo when whichever singer sings...almost indecipherable, but its there.
Is this normal? All of my DD and DTS sounds mind-blowing, so I assume it can't be a distance/relay issue. Thanks. |

Are you listening to it with a DSP effect applied, perhaps? That's the only thing that pops to mind.

Agreed. You might have a DSP like "Live" or "Concert" on.
Also, if you've calibrated your setup for DD and DTS, you should now calibrate the Pro-Logic Surround settings too. These are separate from your DD/DTS settings, and if the rears are too high or too delayed, that could account for it. When you pop a stereo CD into your player, the receiver doesn't detect DD/DTS and may automatically go into Pro-Logic Surround mode. Of course, you should be able to eliminate this problem by listening to your CDs in "Stereo" mode. |
