Hello. Both my DSS receivers are only receing signal through odd number transponders!
I live in Chicago, there was a thunderstorm last night, and now I can only get certain channels.
I checked my signal and it is coming through strong on odd transponders but nothing on even.

What is wrong? I have two receivers and both of them are doing this.. Any suggestions?

THANKS! I really need some help here....

The LNB on your dish may have been damaged. Check that out.

If it is not a LNB then it may be your receiver - here is my story.

I have 2 rca dss receivers and one of them stopped receiving about half the channels. I called in to DirectTV and they verified that it was a hardware problem. I then called RCA and they confirmed it was a hardware problem. My units were under warranty so RCA shipped me out a replacement receiver and then I shipped the defective unit back.

2 receivers going bad at the same time sounds funny but you never know. Give directtv and rca a call as they can help identify the problem.

I wonder if the thunderstorm might have caused the power surge which damaged your DSS.

Just an update, I called RCA and they sent me a free Dual LNB. Installed the dual LNB and everything is working fine.
Thanks for the help.
