I recently purchased a home theater surround sound system. I placed the two rear speakers about 4-5 feet about where my ears come to on the couch. Is this too high? The manual said to place them at "at least ear-height, preferably higher". Thanks.

Well it is usually best to place them about 2-3ft above your ears, but if it sounds good to you then I wouldn't worry about it. Try lowering them a few feet and see if you like it any better.
