Just bought a set of Monster cables for component. But doing a comparison between S-Video and Component, I really can't see a difference. I'm using a Toshiba 3109 connected to a Sony KP-61V85. There's a huge difference between Composite and S-Video/Component. Is it just me, that I can't tell the difference, or is there something wrong with my set?

Revco2k, thanks for an honest answer.
rajjneef, thanks for being a jerk. However, the fact that Best Buy has a 14 day return policy kind of negates your stupid comment. As for the price, why is everyone paying 100+ for bettercables.com cables, when they're 30 bucks more and compare "a bit better" than Monsters. Anyways, if you're just going to be a smartass, feel free to refrain from posting.

What kind of S-Video cable did you have before?
If it was a MONSTER or a similar brand cable the difference may not be all the noticeable. I jumped from the S Video cable that came in the DVD player box, to a set of Gold plated Component cables, and I noticed a decent improvement.
Just food for thought

It was the S-video that came with the DVD player, I believe. Just one I remembered I had lying around. The Component cable I tried was the MonsterVideo2 cables with 24 karat gold connectors and all the other stuff. Barely saw a bit of difference.

Yes the difference is less noticeable than the jump from composite to Svideo but some feel it's worth it. I do. I believe that colors are more saturated and more realistic.

Please note that 'gold plated' connectors are neither a indicator of quality nor better image. In fact, on most cheaper cables it can be more a detriment, as their low quality gold plating is atop inferior metals. Gold is only used because it is a noble metal and doesn't corrode like others, and though it has inherent high distortion and resistance it's considered 'pleasant' and tolerable. High quality silver is far superior and far more desirable.
Interpretation: Gold connectors doesn't mean squat
