Problem with my Toshiba Blu Ray Player

Today I turned on my Toshiba Blu ray player to watch a blu ray that came in the mail yesterday. The player turned on perfectly fine, as I saw the main menu when it booted up. I inserted the blu ray and the BD-Rom icon that always comes on came on, so it did recognize the blu ray, but rather than going to the menu screen, the screen just went black and stayed there. Any ideas what could be the problem?

You should search on the movie, see if that disc has a problem in players. Could also check for a firmware update for the player.

Thanks for the tip. I think it was just needing a firmware update, as I got the BD working last night.

Re: Problem with my Toshiba Blu Ray Player

Since it's a Toshiba player, I was going to suggest popping in an HD-DVD and see if it plays properly.

Re: Problem with my Toshiba Blu Ray Player

I think I've heard of some issues with Toshiba players' screens going black. I think the solution is to unplug the player, wait a minute, and plug it back in.
