let's say i have $500-$600 to spend. what's the best thing i can get?
i have an oritron dvd player, so if it's a dvd player combo (like the sony dav-s300) that's all right. but if the best way to go is to just use the oritron, that's all right.
i'm using it in a room with 15 feet x 12 feet or so, with the tv area taking up maybe 3/5 of that area.
what's everyone's opinions? i'm thinking about the sony dav-s300 right now.

I was in the same boat for 500 I got the JVC Rx 6000v. DD+DTS I live in an apartment so I wasn't to concerned with total watts and all that.
Then for the speakers I got The JBL simply cinema package(sorry i forgot the model #). It came with 5 satellite speakers and subwoofer included. only thing that sucks is the center speaker. It is a small satellite speaker also.
Let me tell you i love my system it is small so i dont piss off the neighbors, But when i do crank it up, it sounds great. There is nothing like surrond sound with my dvd movies. I am a happy camper for now, until i upgrade.
