JVC DR-MV150B combo DVD/VHS recorder dubbing problem. After dubbing a VHS tape onto either Memorex +RW, +R or -R disc, the DVD on playback has glitches. It is like static interference or mosaics on the disc. Lose sound and disc will not progress even after repeated FF attempts.

Welcome to the site, Ray. You might want to read up on the rules as far as posting protocol goes (hint: your title is just a bit vague).
Are you trying to dub a commercially released VHS? If so, most were encoded with a copy-protection called Macrovision, and DVD/VHS recorders will not defeat it.

Was "Ray" released on VHS? Anyways, if a tape has Macrovision, the DVD recorder will refuse to go into Record mode. Sounds like whatever you're playing the discs on is having trouble reading them.

Re: Ray
As a cheaper method of sussing out the problem, I would try a different brand of DVD - or +Rs. For store bought discs, I would try the Verbatim brand. Also, are you trying the malfunctioning discs on other players and getting the same problems?

Memorex blank discs are total crap. What you are experiencing is normal with Memorex. Go get some Verbatim at Best Buy.
As for macrovision, dvd recorders won't even begin recording if macrovision is detected. With vhs/dvd combo units, where the dubbing is internal, it's completely impossible.
