i have my dvd player and dreamcast with a vga box, and i want to run both on s-video, but my tv only has 1 s-video input. my receiver does s-video switching. do you think i would lose any quality if i run the 2 s-videos into the receiver then 1 more cable to my 27" wega??? i would imagine that the receiver would cause enough interference to degrade the picture quality. am i right??

Yes, but it won't be "VERY" noticeable.

It really depends on the quality of your receiver....I personally feel the best connection is straight to your television!!

I agreed with what has been posted: it depends on your receiver but in most cases the difference will be hardly noticeable (the bigger your screen, the more obvious it will be).

If you have a cable laying around, you might just want to try it and decide for yourself.
That's what I did, and I decided I liked it through the stereo the same. It sure makes the inputs a lot easier at the TV for my wife.
