TV Won't Stretch Image

I have a Samsung LCD 1080p TV and I've been watching some non-anamorphic films recorded off my DVD recorder lately. I use the stretch wide option in the picture mode, but today I turned my TV on and it will only let me stretch up and down and not lengthwise. Anyone have any idea why this would be? In the list of options, Wide is now greyed out for no reason I can identify.

EDIT: Sorry, problem solved. For some reason my BD player's settings were on 480p. How or why, I have no idea because it wasn't a day ago and I'm the only person who uses it.

Make sure your BD player's settings aren't on 480p. You may not know how or why it gets changed, but it sometimes does. Heck, even if it wasn't like that a day ago, and even if you're the only person that uses it, it may still end up getting changed.
