Best way to record from DVD to VHS?

Hello:

I currently have my Sony 550 DVD player hooked up to my TV using the "yellow-red-white" jacks (no "s-cable" output is available on my TV).

My question is: Are there any other type of
jacks or cords I should use if I wanted to record a DVD to VHS tape? I tried using the yellow jack (for video) and a red one (for audio), but the quality just didn't come out right on tape.

Any response would greatly be appreciated.

Gee. Do you think it could be because the DVD is copy protected?!?!? How dare they...

Get a Digital Video Stabalizer, it cancels out the macrovision, and lets you record. The quality of it sucks though, if you record at EP, if you record at SP, its slightly better.

Funny thing...I never once thought of the DVD as being copy-protected...guess it just skipped my mind

But the truth is, the DVD recording DID come out on the VHS tape. It's just that the quality could've been *slightly* better.

If you are planning on doing alot of recording onto tape consider the Apex DVD player with the "hidden" menu which disables macrovision.

Older VCRs will record DVDs with limited quality degradation. You just have to be lucky enough to own one!! I had 2, a Sony and an RCA. I record with the Sony and play on the RCA with no interference in the picture. I was lucky, but what do I need to copy my DVDs for???

my friend has a deul deck vcr. those gets rid of the copy protection. at least his does...
