I just purchased a JBL S-Center for my HT and I recently noticed a Yellowish blob on my Tv screen? I thought that they were supposed to be Shielded??
Well The bad thing is I have no roon to put it anywhere else except on top of the TV

Is there anything that I could put under the speaker to sheild it a little more....like some dynomat or something....I know that they use it to deaden the panels in cars put I have no real ideas of what to do.

My tv is in a Armuor and I have no room to put it up top either.....Tell me what you think I should do!
Thanxs.

I don't really have a good solution for you, but Dynamat will not do anything. The problem you're experiencing is one of magnetic interference. Dynamat blocks (absorbs, really) sound waves.
You could take the speaker back and ask that it be replaced. All center channels are supposed to be magnetically shielded. It sounds like yours isn't...

A word of warning, though: the picture interference you're seeing will become permanent if you leave an unshielded speaker on top of the set for too long.

Take it back.

I've had an S-Center on top of a Wega for over a month now and have no problems.

Good advice. If you are still have problems,
try buiding a shelf/stand for the center speaker, maybe place it below the TV - anything to create a little distance. You can always angle the center to compensate.

As far as shielding goes - you'd need a bucking magnet ($$$) or a shield can ($$) around the woofers. A simple shield can is an iron can supported around the woofer's magnet. Another layer of mu-metal or para-magnetic alloy around that. Needs to be securely held and acoustically isolated (foam, neoprene, etc ).

Your shield can might be off or the shielding just isn't good enough.
