I need some suggestions. I am helping a friend os mine set up a home theater and really like my Infinity speakers, so will probably go with infinity for her's too.
I can't seem to find a place the carries more than 1 or 2 different types. Help would be appreciated.

Are you looking to buy them online or at a local store?

I would watch Mercata.com for powerbuys on Infinity speakers. They currently have a powerbuy for the Infinity RS 3's bookshelf speakers at 186.00 and free shipping. I bought the same speakers for 200.00, so I would definitely jump on this deal. Go to www.mercata.com then go to electronics, followed by home audio, and lastly speakers. Onecall.com has lots of Infinity speakers, and will usually price match other retailers. You have to call for their prices.

Have you tried the price search engines like: www.dealtime.com www.mysimon.com www.snap.com www.electronics.killerapp.com www.pricescan.com www.storerunner.com www.compare.net

You can see all the online pricewars first hand when using these searches. But be certain to go to local stores and give a listen to them before you buy, and check out www.epinions.com

Good luck

Don't forget to check out ubid.com. I bought a pair of rs4's for $155 delivered. Keep checking...their stuff changes daily. Bear in mind that this may be reconditioned stuff, tho.

sorry, I meant each. My point is that these sould be cheap online. Infinity has discontinued them and will not have a replacment at this price point. In fact they say the cheapest Infinity product will be $600 in the next few months.

I recently bought a pair of Overture 3's from a place called Idaho Multimedia www.osht.com, which is an authorized Infinity retailer (you can link to them from Infinity's dealer locator page). I paid $100 more for the pair than Circuit City sells ONE! (CC basically doubles the wholesale cost). As you may have read in other posts, Infinity is clearing out their current models to come out with a higher end line, so you should be able to find some good deals out there.

If she's a real friend, do her a favor and buy her some Klipsch speakers. Several models, total quality.

2 cents-
