The guy on ebay I bought them from was awesome! One of the boxes was ripped on delivery and one cushion had a cut in it. I e-mailed him and he sent me another seat bottom and told me it was ok to keep the one with the cut in it. So I have an extra seat to "test" on.

Re: List Your Home Theater Gear....
I'm bumping this thread because I finally got my 2.35:1 screen completed and mounted. Now I'm entering real "HT" territory.
I've only got one (very dark) picture so far because I desperately need to clean the room before I keep going.
My gear:
Panasonic PT-AE4000 LCD Projector
Onkyo TX-SR606 Receiver
KEF speakers (2 x IQ7, 2 x IQ10, 1 x IQ60. All black)
Yamaha Subwoofer (this is my next replacement...)
Self-built HTPC w/ Blu-ray & HD-DVD playback
Self-built 47" x 108" screen (wood, black-out fabric, and a lot of staples...)
- approx. 117" diagonal for 2.35:1 content
- approx. 96" diagonal for 16:9 content
- approx. 78" diagonal for 4:3 content
It's hard to tell in the picture, but I draped black velvet on the wall around the screen. HUGE improvement! I'm going to paint the remaining walls a very dark grey colour, and replace the carpet (which is a lighter beige colour). Seating for now is just a couple of leather couches, but I'll eventually convince the wife to let me buy a recliner or two.
The red tint you see in the picture is entirely the fault of my phone's camera. Every picture I take has a red tint to it. In reality, it looks much better in person.
Super big picture:

That is just gorgeous. Bravo to you sir, that looks like one fine system worth looking at. Can I ask, but what kind of screen are you projecting onto? I'm in the middle of setting my room up, and I was looking at several screens. Also, that black velvet - do you mind offering where you got that from?

Re: List Your Home Theater Gear....
The guide doesn't give suggestions for mounting it, so I figured that out myself as well. I screwed a 6-foot piece of wood to the back of the top part of the frame, and screwed another 6-foot piece of wood to the wall (finding the studs, of course). The edges of the two pieces of wood were cut at an angle so they would kind of slide into each other, and would stop the screen from falling forward. I don't have a good picture of how that works, unfortunately.

I'm going to do my best to set the brightness/contrast/etc. tonight and finally watch something from beginning to end. Thinking about The Fifth Element (which I also bought when I bought the materials... as motivation to get it done quickly. )

Re: List Your Home Theater Gear....
What is the point of owning a receiver AND amp and why do you refer to the receiver as a "processor"?
BTW...
Pioneer VSX 1019AH Receiver
Def Tech ProMonitor 1000 (front and rears) and ProCenter 1000
Sony SA-WM40 Sub
Panasonic TH-50PX60
TivoHD
HarmonyOne
Zotac Zbox ID34BR running XBMC connected to an external case housing 3 HDDs totalling 6TB music/movies. 0 DVDs / 0 BRs!

Re: List Your Home Theater Gear....
Because the ATI amp is 100x as good as the amp built into the receiver. A receiver is the combination of a preamp, amp, switcher, and now digital processor. He is not using the amp section anymore, so just classified it "processor" to cover everything else.

Re: List Your Home Theater Gear....
I've had some changes. Still a budget set up. And still love.
My budget HT set up that I'm actually pretty happy with,
Projector: Optoma HD70 (720p HD) about $900
Screen: 94" WS DIY, $150
Receiver: Onkyo w/HDMI and lossless. Not sure the model (don't remember cost, $250ish?)
TV Receiver: Dish Network HD, Free
Toshiba HD DVD player (yes still use), $100
Speakers: Celestion AVP-305 system (+1 for 6.1), $150
Sub: Matching Celestion, $100
Game system/Bluray: Sony PS3, $300 (I think - it is an original one)
Remote: Harmony 880, $170 (bought 2 weeks before $50 rebate )
Rear seating: 6 true theater seats off eBay, $675
Riser: DIY with carpet, $150
Front seating: Couch moved from living room
Side seating: Love seat moved from living room
Main Carpet: replaced wall to wall w/commercial carpet squares with rubber backing.
No it has not escaped me that my remote is one of the more expensive things in my theater

Re: List Your Home Theater Gear....
Love It...and I've been and still am a Denon fan.
Plenty of sound field choices especially with the YPAO setup. The interface and GUI is easy. There are som mny fine tuning one can do to each speaker it's mind-boggling. I really like the network part as I can play our mp3's thru Windows Media Player which is on the other end of the house. I've got everything connected thru it and one HDMI cable to the TV and no issues what-so-ever, even with 3D and upscaling.
I don't have a Ipod or Apple anything to comment on the connection and performance of it. Plenty of jacks and inputs and everything is clearly marked. The additional USB port is helpful. There are plenty of sound fields to chooose from and frankly I haven't heard some of our collection sound so good. Everything from Pure Direct to Cineme DSP 3D. I even like two-channel thru the two PSB fronts once-in-awhile.

Re: List Your Home Theater Gear....
Yeah I'm asking cause I am between that Yamaha RX-V671, the Denon AVR-1912 and the Onkyo NR-609, which all are 7.1 midgrade receivers with network capabilities. My dad got the Onkyo one but he keeps insisting his previous legacy Yamaha was way better and I think I kinda agree, since i remember it being awesome. I never owned a Denon so I really can't tell how they are

Re: List Your Home Theater Gear....
Did the amps die in the old one? Because a midrange receiver (with preouts) makes a pretty decent preamp. It's the amps that suck.

Re: List Your Home Theater Gear....
Hi, no it didn't die, we were just looking at a receiver that could decode the newer DTS-HD, True Dolby standards. How would a setup like you say work?
