Suggestions for a DTS Receiver & 5.1/6.1 Speaker System?
I realized I'm slowly climbing towards almost 200 DVDs and still are watching them on a regular old DVD player on a 27" TV. So I recently bought a new HDTV (Toshiba 30HF83) and a new progressive scan DVD player (Sony DVP-NS575P/S). Now all I need is a DTS receiver and a 5.1 or 6.1 speaker set and I'll be all done. I don't know much about sound and I am on sort of a tight budget and would like to keep it around $400 (I am still a teenager). Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Onkyo HTS760
http://www.circuitcity.com/detail.js...&u=c&oid=70772 If you do some looking around, you can get it for less, but I figure you probably have a CC near you. It won't get better than this my friend in your price range. Nice TV BTW ![]() |

Thanks for the input. Found it online for $398.00 with "6 cents curbside-delivery" making the total $398.06. I think I just might order it now. Thanks again.

It's pretty big because I moved into the basement two years ago. I'd say very roughly 10x20ft.

I bought my Onkyo HTS760 about a 4-5 weeks ago and couldn't be happier with it. To give you an idea of how this system works with my living room look at the schematic below. The sub completely fills the room as do the speakers. Keep in mind I don't have perfect arrangement of the speakers but it is the best I can do with the room and wife. Rear surround (S1) is sitting on my fireplace mantle. There is more than enough power to fill the room. I can't even turn it all the way up because it shakes the house.... or so it seems.
Can you guess where I sit when watching movies??? ![]()
