RF modulator, available at any Radio Shack, Wal-Mart or Best Buy for about $30.

Get one with a manual switcher. I had an autoswitcher that would "autoswitch" in the middle of movies.

If your Grandmother hasn't bought the DVD player yet have her buy a DVD/VHS combo player that will have a RF Coaxial output and save the money on the much inferior RS RF Modulator that has pretty poor quality picture.
