Anyway to disable [PROTECT] on Sony STR-DE*** Recievers?
Well, I have a SONY STR-DE675, and whenever theirs a noticable change in tones (Low > high, or High > Low)
For instance, in Crouching Tiger, when Zhang pulls out here sword, at the picnic table.. the whole part in the matrix where trinity jumps, the camera spins, then she kicks.. the reciever will say PROTECT, and I have to shut it down, then turn it on again.. Is their any way to disable this? |

You might be able to minimize with 3 changes:
1. Supply it better, cleaner, balanced power 2. Use speakers that are less power hungry 3. Turn the volume down Unfortunately, the power supply in Sony receivers, especially their non-ES line, are notoriously weak. |

There might be another possibility. The protection kicks in when the amp detects a short.
If some of your speaker cable is not neatly done there might be some tiny strands that touch when a vibration shakes the room. |

As for the DB series they have far better power supplies then the DE series and the ES series has power supplies equal to the higher end models from Yamaha, Denon, H&K, etc... |
