Optical Out

Just won a new DVD player. I can't get the optical out to work. I have connected the dvd audio to the receiver via an optical cable. Get nothing. I have a Pioneer Reciever and a Panasonic DVD? Any help is appreciated.

You may need to assign the optical input on your receiver to the input you are using for the DVD player.
