What the hell are these things........?

I'm looking at this one right now...

Is it worth shelling out all the extra cash for this one??

How is it better than other TV"s???

(sorry if they seem stupid questions but I need to know in laymans terms.)

Are you talking about plasma displays? If so, do a search here on "plasma" and you'll get all sorts of info.

PDP is part of the model numbers for Pioneer's plasma screens. They tend to not be as nice (black levels, colors, adjustments, brightness, scalers, etc) as some from other manufacturers.
