Okay, ive looked at the other threads, but my mother wants a player thats farily simple and for around $100-110. I know thats a rediculous budget, but she honestly doesnt need anything extravagent, im the HT guy, not her.

Anyway, she only has like a 25 or 27" TV and no receiver, she just wants to move to DVD. I was looking at BB and they are having a sale right now but thye only have brands like Mintek, and Sharp (like the DV-S1U) that would be around that price on sale. I would rather stay away from Mintek, just because I know nothing about them, and im not sure about Sharp.

any reccommendations, or can you suggest another brand somewhere else?

You can get a Toshiba 2800 for around $120 (Costco usually has them). Other people recommend the Panasonic RV-22, which is widely available for less than $140.

Either one of these will probably be more reliable than Mintek, Apex, Sharp, etc.

Walmart's DVD Selection

Quite a few DVD Players in your price range by companies you have heard of. Don't know if they are any good.
