Computer monitors and DVD image quality?
I've heard that the image quality when watching a DVD on a computer monitor is on par with HDTV. Is this true?
What is the image equivalent to:
S-Video Non-HDTV
S-Video HDTV
Component HDTV
etc?
I know it depends on the brand of T.V. but you get the idea.

Monitors are progressive scan, and DVD's are all 480 lines. DVD's are nowhere near the limits of HDTV's nor monitors, so holding software and cable quality constant, there is no real technical advantage one way or another.
Standard VGA cables are about the same quality or higher than component cabling.
