I was going to buy the Pioneer DV-37 progressive scan DVD player from an online retailer, then noticed in the ad specs that in order to benefit from the progressive scan feature of the player, a progressive scan TV would be needed. Is this true? I haven't heard of a progressive scan television.

If you want to output progressive with this player then you need a progressive tv, they do exist. I have a panasonic one myself. You can still output in interlace with this player if you do not yet have a progressive tv.

In progressive mode this player is just plain awesome. Only problem I've come across is it does have problems with the Dinosaur: CE disc.
