hi all,

I am trying to buy a low end dvd player,

the Panasonic dvd-rv31k looks pretty good to me (amazon has it for $179.99), it plays MP3 also, has anyone had any experience with it?

I am also looking at the Philips DVD710AT, which is a little cheaper, $129.99 at amazon.

which one should i get?

thanks

I own the Panasonic RV30 and have used the RV31 at work. In my opinion you can't find a better player for that kind of cash. Fast load times, great picture, silent drive mechanism, throw in Mp3 support and you've got one hell of a machine.

I have the panasonic dvd-rv31s (same as the k except for the color from what i can tell). I am very happy with it and it has done everything I've ever wanted it to do without problem and I have no complaints. My friend has that Philips and he is very happy with his. I don't think you will go wrong with either purchase. The philips can't read cd-rs though if that matters to you...

I had the Panasonic RV-31, but took it back after I got 2 discs that wouldn't play on it (pixalation and skipping). Although the same discs play flawlessly on the Sony I bought.
