I was holding out all this while for the 16:9 HDTV prices to fall and this one meets the bill. This is the last unopened piece in an outlet nearby and the store is offering a killer deal.
Here is a list of features: http://www.sel.sony.com/SEL/consumer...s/kw34hd1.html This has been reviewed very favorably on epinions.com and audioreview.com, the price being quoted as the major downside. KW34HD1 was Sony's first foray into Digital TVs and has a full list of technical features that I need. Sony has discontinued this model and is issuing a newer model this fall. The TV lists for $8499 and the store is offering to take $3300 for it. So, what do you think my fellow addicts ? Should I go for this deal ? For the same price (approx), I can get the newer Panasonic Tau series CT-34WX50, which also has comparable list of features. Both are within my budget. (The reason I am keen on a 34" direct view is due to the size of my living room) Edited to add spec sheet: Specifications of KW-34HD1 [Edited by kinky on 06-10-01 at 08:30 AM]
