Technics SB-SL501

These are the speakers my dad gave me 6 months ago. I was trying to dig up some info on them but found nothing. I posted a thread about a month ago saying I was probably going to do a HT in a box. I think I want to stick with these speakers and buy a seperate reciever, center and rears. Anyone know anything about the Technics? The speakers I have are probably 5-10 years old, but in mint condition and sound great.

A guy wants to trade me a pair of these speakers for one of my CD players. IYO are they nice sounding spkrs and do you think this is a good trade? The speakers look to be in in great shape, though I have not heard them yet
