Disney Movie Club, anyone do the numbers recently?

I've noticed that I'm getting the blu-ray discs very cheap each as a VIP member of the Disney Movie Club with their 3 disc deals. I was thinking that it might be time to cancel and renew in a few months. But has anyone done the numbers recently? No matter what, it's a lot cheaper than Wal-Mart, Amazon or other retailers.

With the best code, the enrollment package is 21.90 for 7 movies.

Without any other deals, you need to buy 2 more at 29.95 each to fulfill. Ususally you can wait for a promo where you buy 2 or more and get free shipping, so thats

21.90 + 29.95 + 29.95 = 81.80 /9 = 9.08 per title

However 24.95 pre-orders count as fulfillments (Little Mermaid is one), so you can lower your cost per title with those. Also, they recently did a selection of the month with 2 titles for 29.95 (essentially a BOGO) which also counted as a fulfillment, which was another nice way to drop cost per title.

Also, we have this thread for questions like this: http://forum.dvdtalk.com/dvd-clubs/5...-ray-club.html

Yeah those double feature selections were nice. I purchased 2 on my last account.
$21.90 + $29.95 + $34.95 = $86.80 / 11 = $7.89 per title (that was really nice)

Just did one:

Intro package: $21.90
Toy Story 1 SE
Toy Story 2 SE
Toy Story 3 SE
Alice in Wonderland
Secretariat
Tron Classic
Tron Legacy

$56.95
Saving Mr. Banks
Mary Poppins
Peter Pan Diamond BD + DVD + Digital
Free Tote Bag

$81.89
Jungle Book Diamond BD + DVD + Digital
Cinderella 3-disc Diamond
The Little Mermaid Diamond 3D + BD + DVD + Digital
Free Tote bag

Total = $160.74 / 13 titles = $12.37/title

More expensive per title but that includes four Diamond titles, which tend to be more expensive. I priced it at Amazon and came up with $327.26, double the price.

If I'm not mistaken about what you paid and what promotions you used, you could've just bought the highlighted part of your orders and had a much better avg. (21.90 + 56.95 / 10 = 7.885 avg. ) The B2G1 might have been better utilized with Cindy, Peter, and Little Mermaid 3D, and save the others for future enrollments. I don't know, anything over an avg of $10 a title is way too much for this club.

Re: Disney Movie Club, anyone do the numbers recently?

Thank you all for your very helpful tips.

I too am hoping to find Disney Blu-ray movies that are available in the initial Introduction catalog (which some titles I suspect are not available).

My Disney Blu-ray short wish list is:
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea
Kidnapped
Zorro TV Series (Complete)
Song of the South
101 Dalmatians
Swiss Family Robinson
Pinocchio
Old Yeller
Davy Crockett
Toby Tyler
Pollyanna
In Search of the Castaways
The Parent Trap (1961)
Thanks again.
