Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

Dates for my non preorders as well

Looks like they're honoring. Great news. So far I will be getting

Attack the Block 4.61
Journey to the center of the earth 3d 14.95
Mortal Kombat: Legacy 2.99

with like 8 more coming after that. For some reason it let me use the 15 off code 11 times.

After the box set enrollments went through, and now this, I'm convinced that CH gets their inventory for pennies an item.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

All 15 of mine have shipped dates of 3/12/12. I've never seen them cancel any orders from glitches before. Only once did one of my orders "disappear" and it wasn't on a glitch but an order from an email they sent me.

One other time about 6 years ago they had a glitch that was giving (tripple)tripple funcash. So every box set was earning $36 in funcash. They never canceled the orders on that one, but they adjusted the funcash on everyones orders.

Incredible deals. I know CH has a history of usually honoring these, but I don't think it's out of them trying to provide good customer service; I think they're just so inept at even noticing the errors in the first place.

4 of mine shipped and another is expected to ship later this week. I wish I would've found the deal a little sooner (and I wish I had a little more disposable income at the moment), but overall, I'm just thrilled the orders weren't cancelled.

Wow, greed has taken over. Talk about taking advantage of a glitch or mis-intended promotion.

I am all for taking advantage when it's a pricing error or whatever.. to a point. Placing 15-20 orders or ordering 25 copies of the same thing is downright appalling.

Reminds me of the old story about this witticism from Winston Churchill::

“Churchill: "Madam, would you sleep with me for five million pounds?"

Socialite: "My goodness, Mr. Churchill... Well, I suppose... we would have to discuss terms, of course... "

Churchill: "Would you sleep with me for five pounds?"

Socialite: "Mr. Churchill, what kind of woman do you think I am?!"

Churchill: "Madam, we've already established that. Now we are haggling about the price”
So is it just a matter of degree?

Anyway, I placed 15 orders so I guess I was over the "downright appalling" line.

FUDGE! I can't believe I missed out on this. Haven't checked this thread recently. But even if I had seen the deal in time, I'd still be upset, since I closed 2 of my 3 accounts two weeks ago. So I lose either way... But I guess I'd rather have one account full of bargains, than zilch, which is what I got now. ARGH!

This is always what gets me about those that complain about "taking advantage" of a deal. They always set some arbitrary line in which they appear righteous that they have not crossed.

In their defense, I think most of us can agree that ordering 20 copies of Jack and Jill is "unnatural, detrimental, and ultimately destructive".

Still no ship date for my orders. Has everyone else gotten dates for theirs or is anyone else in the same boat? Hoping they go through...

I got ship dates and shipping confirmations for all my nonpreorders except Papillon which is backordered.

I didn't order anything. But do we want them to never have deals again.. or worse, go out of business?

I don't think anyone wants a company to go out of business, but their great deals, especially anything great involving Blu-rays, are VERY few and far between. I don't feel bad at all for jumping on this.

My orders now have a shipping date, by the way. Maybe check yours again, Sweet Baby.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

Yay, got shipping dates as well--except for preorders and stuff that came out today says "Backordered , expected in stock on 03/13/12"

Agree with above--don't want them to go out of business, but I prob only order from them twice a year when there's actually a deal (shipping on blu-rays is absurd when it contains BD/DVD/DC and they charge 6.99). Plus they refuse to let me set it to "Positive Reply Only" for the TV club so every 3 weeks I need to decline the DS--so I do have to do some work for the deals.

I don't feel bad because I only placed a couple of orders and I actually did spend $60 at CH in February. BTW, I now have ship dates too.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

I've got ship dates too for all of my non-preorders (which is all but two of them), though I've got that weird "balance due" thing. Am reading elsewhere on the thread that it'll go away, so I'm not gonna sweat it.

If I may make a minor contribution to the "downright appalling" debate: Though I know two wrongs don't make a right, have you seen what their regular prices are? Or what they charge new enrollments that don't have a good enrollment code? The people who aren't savvy to deals and codes get taken to the cleaners by CH; I don't feel a tremendous amount of guilt about taking advantage of a glitch every now and again.

Last time I checked, CH wasn't holding a gun to anyone's head forcing them to join.

Scooby-Doo!: Music of the Vampire, The Adventures of Tintin 3d and The Three Musketeers 3d are now showing shipped for me. No date quite yet, but I'm sure it will be updated with one sometime Wed.
