Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part V
hey..
long time lurker, finally posting something.. honestly, you guys scare me when you yell at people for not posting in the precise way on the precise thread, etc . . . always makes me aprehensive.. ANYWAY.. used code 801746 to make my committment buys and finish off an account.. all said and done, cost per DVD was $4.75.. broke down like this.. 7 enrollment titles = 12.89 ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT S3 = 19.95 RENO 911 S3 = 19.95 repo: genetic opera = FREE 30 days of night = FREE carrie = FREE feast III = FREE shipping = 8.96 so, total spent was $61.75 for 13 DVD's.. $4.75 each.. thankx for being the hook-up for the codes, jester! |

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part V
As long as I can remember, 801490 has always been active. However, at least for me, sometimes it works as a B1G1 - and sometimes as a B1G1 Unlimited.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part V
When calculating these things, you can't average together sets and regular DVDs.
Reno 911 S3 and Arrested Development S3 are not regularly priced DVDs available as enrollments or as freebies in a B1G1, nor are they normally available with free shipping. It's impossible to value them accurately since they're not good deals at the club without the special situation now where they bump up to the $19.95 level, and now can get us freebies and count as fulfillments. The only way to really compare their value is to look at alternative retailers for a replacement value. I don't know what they go for or where you can find them, but: In dedrose's example, he/she came out much farther ahead than originally thought. $61.75 for 11 DVDs and 2 sets, not $61.75 for 13 DVDs. For example, if the sets can be found for $10 each elsewhere, that means 11 DVDs for $41.75, or about $3.80 each. Nice...

If only my latest application, sumitted Monday evening, had gone through. I'm only getting about 1 in 4 to work lately, and my timing here wasn't good. Too bad, because if you want any of those $20 sets this is a smoking good fulfillment deal. |

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part V
Also worth noting with the B1G2 code, Your freebies don't necessarily have to be 19.95 or less when you buy one of the box sets as your B1, I've noticed that you can go up to 22.95.
For example, I just placed the following order: John Hughes Too Cool For School Collection: $19.95 Tale of Despereaux (22.95): FREE Role Models (22.95): FREE Total With Shipping 24.93 |

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part V
As long as you have a Club Price item setting the qualifying level to $26.95 or more, it appears that titles up to $26.95 will qualify as free with the B1G2. That is, as long as they are not titles in the 2-for-1 SE sale. Because of that 2-for-1 sale, most of the best SEs are excluded.
However, thanks to the data miner list (thanks again, guys!), I found a few: All the $26.95 titles at CH (confirmed to work as free): Maltese Falcon Special Edition (3 discs) Mystic River Deluxe Edition (3 discs) NFL Steelers: The Complete History Oklahoma! 50th Anniversary Edition Windtalkers Director's Edition (3 discs) And here is a list of $24.95 titles that should work (ones not included in the 2-for-1 SE sale), but I am not about to try to check them all to see if they work as free in the cart: Spoiler:
From the list of $24.95 titles, I should note that two of these are 3-disc (and not because of Digital Copy) editions: Black Hawk Down Deluxe Edition Ten Commandments The 50th Anniversary Collection In the days before Digital Copy editions, these were considered "sets" by CH, and were never available as free selections and had big shipping charges. Once the 3-disc Hulk and Sarah Marshall releases were in the club, these changed to regular DVDs instead of sets, making them much better deals.

You are buying from CH, the set price ($19.95) is what you are going to pay, thus, that is the value whether or not you can find each title in the set for more expense elsewhere and multiply by 2 or 3 discs in the set or just finding the set cheaper/more expensive is irrelevant or at best perceived value.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part V
^Actually, those were TV sets which, as Cheato and Lizard mentioned, have more value than regular DVD titles. On a TVonDVD membership with a properly optimized fulfillment they have a "value" of $15.33, but for a sale like this I always use the lowest current price I can find *or* $10/each for the sets to be able to better value the regular DVDs of such a membership... and yes, even if those sets are movie sets.
No matter how you stack it, this is a great way to fulfull and gives possibly the best optimization available. |

I'm not quite sure I understood your point, but as far as the logic of the math goes: If you can cycle accounts and get DVDs for $4.80, and if you could get Reno 911 Season 3 and Arrested Development Season 3 for $2 each from another retailer, you would quite literally be throwing money away just to get those season sets at CH--there must be something else you could get instead that would still get you the discs you wanted but not entail you losing money on the season sets. Just because you're cycling accounts at CH to get great deals doesn't mean that you check your brain at the login page. To take it to an extreme to get you to see the logic of that, if all DVDs were $3 elsewhere, you wouldn't buy any DVDs from CH at all. The limiting factor on purchases at CH is the fact that $4.80 is the base price for DVDs, and $15.33 is the base price for basic boxed sets. If your average is better than that, you're under par. If you can get something for less than that elsewhere (or close to it, considering the cost of the hassle of cycling), then you're wasting your money at CH. Extrapolate that back into the situation discussed previously, and you should see the logic.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part V
^There's no need to close it in a hurry. You can have 2 open accounts of *each* type. Keep it open in case a really good offer comes up while waiting for a new one to get approved. Once you've gotten the new account open *then* close the fulfilled account.
And... welcome! Don't be afraid to ask questions, all we ask is they are in the appropriate thread and not double posted. Ask questions about codes in this thread, TVonDVD questions here, and everything else here. |

801746 - b1g2 (WOD)
Has anyone used this code and had their order get shipped? I placed 5 different orders using 801746, and all of them are listed as "backordered".
