This is is still not complete. I need major help in figuring out the sequence of those yu-gi and yu yu DVDs. there are too many. I will add the selection numbers (for most) tomorrow. Reviews in the coming week.

No, there are many dvds that should be here that aren't as seen with the yellow highlight which are ones i remembered, like some hong kong stuff among others, including Crimson Rivers and Wasabi which i will add later since i rembered this morning. The main issue is this, unless someone gives me a title or a selection # it will be hard to keep this the most complete ever so I ask for anyone with anything in mind to help. The other issue is the kung fu stuff like the jackie chan, jet li etc. I'm sure I will put these in but again I don't have all of them in a list as well as that many are english only which shouldn't matter because i could always put them in a color stating that. Also, are films like the man with no name trilogy going to be on the list? I ask because those films are Italian in nature but the main actors are American, no? so I guess my ultimate question is, What is the cutoff to a foreign/international DVD?

thanks yakuza will do. They will be up there by tonight. Yeah I thought about the anime and I will get rid of them. Any idea how I can handle the yu-gi and the yu-yu anime? they are not all numbered and I don't watch them so i have no idea at least with the dragon ball I'll try to put them in a better order. dragon ball, dragon ball z and the series and GT. what do you think? I've already starting to add some but i'm at work so it will be very slow.

with the Italian westerns i think the choice is 50/50. You are absolutely right they are more American than Italian in my opinion (most of them). So you could either add them or have a separate paragraph as you did with the anime.

Something to consider. I guess I could add a small table with the spaghetti westerns as "honorable mentions" or I could just add them up with the rest of them. The way i see it, if we could have men with guns in there we could have spaghetti westerns. we could always make it the "one and only CH foregin, anime and spaggetti western dvd thread" j/k.
Another issue is the alphabetical order. I used CH's system of ordering but as you all can see, is far from perfect. Half the C selections would be in another letter. the one that gets me the most is Z. I mean is in the # and the M section. nowhere near where it should be. Also, could someone help with some titles of kung fu / hong kong movies that are not in the list. thanks. Update: non Anime deleted.

The table is looking great.
Couple suggestions and additions: 1. Faustina is from Mexico. 2. Change "Father & Son" to "Father and Son" (so that it can be found by title). 3. Ingmar Bergman Gift Set is 3513207 and is from Sweden. 4. Consider adding "Incubus" 2606408. It has an international cast and actually was filmed entirely in the artificial Esperanto language. 5. Change "So Close Warrior" to "So Close"

I'll second the ADV request. Just keep requesting Farscape, that must be a highly requested title. I'm sure if they pick that up the other ADV titles will show up as well.

What are the must haves both in terms of the film and the quality of DVD (nothing that will be re-released, should be, or has a better non-R1 release)?
I realize someone will recommend a large portion of them but the cream of the crop (not uncluding CTHD, GBU, OUATIW, Cronos, and Amores Perros). I am thinking of the following.. Brotherhood of the Wolf (better to get the 3 disc though?) The Devil’s Backbone (any better other region releases?) Grave of the Fireflies Irreversible (any better other region releases?) Ju-On (any better other region releases?) Lucia, Lucia Open Your Eyes Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter...And Spring Y Tu Mama Tambien (unrated?) Any good enrollment/3 for $25 choices? |
