A new update is available. There are a lot of new TV greats added to the catalog, and many of them are available for enrollment, so enroll/quit might be the way to go to get a few TV sets. Also this week are price drops on some more Disney/Buena Vista titles, as well as all of the Fox Studio Classics series except for the two most recent titles in that series.

Also, another 50 titles are missing, most of them Disney/Buena Vista titles (surprise). Get them while you can...

A new update is available. There are a few new titles, and most of the 100 or so titles gone from the website are either PS2 games or Buena Vista titles

A new update is available. More Columbia House TV Greats are available, a bunch of preorders, including the Marx Brothers. A bunch of games are available again, and about 30 titles gone, mostly Buena Vista titles. Don't forget, there's only a week left to get 4 $14.95 titles for $30 with free shipping!

Columbia House changed something on their website Tuesday morning, and my robot failed about half-way through the run. My quick-fixes didn't work, so I'm going to be looking at it this weekend.

I didn't spend as much time on this last weekend as I meant to, and I still haven't figured out why I'm getting 404 errors. Rest assured that I am not going to give up on this, but I'm attending a science fiction convention this weekend, so I probably won't have much time to spend on it this weekend either.

I wanted to thank you for the time and effort you have put into providing the list, bga. It has been an invaluable resource to me.

I hope you get it fixed soon.

Just an update here. I still don't know why the old program stopped working, but I discovered that the CH site doesn't work with the parallel LWP functions, but does work with the single threaded LWP functions, so I'm rewriting the program. I'm hoping to finish it this weekend.

I don't know what any of that means, but it sounds most excellent.

Sounds to me like it's going to take a lot longer than 12 hours to run this script, now.

BGA, think they limited concurrent connection's to their website per IP?

I wonder what the chance is of getting Columbia House to implement a web service or simple XML file with all the current title information in it? Has anyone asked? I'm sure they know that this script is being used, and the results are being taken advantage of by us. Could save themselves 12+ hours of constant web traffic by making it available.

Any luck on modifying your data miner?

Your data miner has been a valuable tool so I was hoping that you have some good news for us.

I hate to admit it, but I've been procrastinating. I've been busy a couple of weekends, and haven't felt up to working on it at night. I know what I want to do, just haven't sat down for the 2-3 hours to write/debug that it will probably take. It doesn't help much that I've been cutting back on my DVD habit because of some big expenses coming up. Soon, I hope.

A nice HDTV monitor, a $5k account at CH, and a month's vacation would certainly motivate me.

Seriously, between work, my new hobby, my old hobby, and way too many unviewed DVDs, it just hasn't been a high priority. I've been working on the rewrite of the script, but it's been slow. I probably only have 3-4 hours worth of work if I don't let myself get distracted, but I have at least one higher priority project to do this weekend. Most likely this will be a Memorial Day weekend project.

Thanks for keeping us updated bga, and for all your hard work!

I for one would be glad to send you $5 paypal or something for your effort...perhaps if others who benefit would do the same, you could feel a bit better about the work you've done for us. (Not suggesting at all that has been or would be your motive, just trying to put a little tangibility behind my graititude.)
