Same here. Picked up a pair. They are marked at $8 each, but are two for $14 plus the 20% off so they ended up being $5.60 each.

Picked up:

TCM War collection - Battle of the Bulge/The Dawn Patrol/Gunga Din/Operation Pacific (Despite the packaging saying the discs were flippers, they are four single sided discs with artwork on one side and all stacked on one spindle inside the case. Maybe these were overstock leftovers from the single releases)

Warner Western Collection - Escape from Fort Bravo/Many Rivers to Cross/Cimarron(1960)/The Law and Jake Wade/Saddle the Wind/The Stalking Moon. (6 single sided discs)

Note: The TCM ones I bought that were marked as $8, but 2 for $14 plus the 20% off making them $5.60 each had a purple price sticker with a number of 145 810326470 0 076 and the Western Collection also a purple price sticker 145 810326571 5 076.

Re: Big Lots Part 11 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

The store here had none of those TCM/Warner 4 packs. They've actually gotten rid of lots of the backlog of WB and MC TVonDVD titles that people didn't seem to be purchasing. They're down to 5 mostly full waterfall displays and the 4 sided wire rack which is about half-full.

I *did* pick up their last copy of the new MC anamorphic DVD of Roxanne ($3 before discount) and a copy of the new version of Evil Dead ($5 before discount).

Unfortunately, there are very few of the TCM 4 packs I need. I have most of what I want from those either in box sets or as individual discs.

At the Niles, IL store, I just got the Baby Looney Tunes 4 pack using the 20% off coupon for a friend of mine for Christmas and all they had there were a lot of the Spotlight collections, Tom and Jerry movies, TAZ Season 1 Volume 1 & 2, and otherr Bugs Bunny cartoons and the entire series of King of Queens with Seasons 3 & 4 of How I met your Mother, but other then that, nothing to write home about.

Went to BIG LOTS today, and saw a new DVD display of $3 and $5 titles. Most are repeaters, but there were a few vintage goodies:
CHRISTMAS IN JULY
THE ROAD TO SINGAPORE
SABRINA (1954 Version)
HOLIDAY

Thanks for the heads up. At least #2 is a repeat. I think Sabrina is also.

Re: Big Lots Part 11 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

I saw some of the BF titles out early. Disappointing. Lots of modern HK from Well Go, Inside Llewyn Davis, Amazing Spider-Man for $1.88. A few Mill Creek blus.

Best find was Parks & Rec season 6 for $2.88.

Blus include Last Action Hero, Anaconda, Slumdog Millionaire, SWAT/Basic, Blue Thunder, Back-up Plan, Gridiron Gang. Some were $1.88, others $2.88.

Home.

Saw for eight bucks; S1 and S3 of "Pretty Little Liars", S3 and S5 of "The Vampires Diaries", S2 "How The West Was Won" and a few others. Like "Crossbones" S1 and "Mom" S1.

"Just Shoot Me: Seasons One And Two" box set $5.00 which I picked up.

"Last Train From Gun Hill" is $1.88.

"To Do List" and "Frankie Go Boom" $3.00 each.

Thanks so much for mentioning these!

I'd really wanted to pick up The Vampire Diaries S4 (I'd bought 1-3 and 5 at past Target BF sales) and don't know if it (or any other TVD) will be at any of the major stores, but swung by BL and they actually had S2 and 1 copy left of S4 (no 3 or 5). The S4 had no price sticker on it, and buying it was something of a hassle, but I finally convinced the cashier to sell it to me for the same $8 as Season 2. Very glad to check that one off my list.

I also saw the 2 Seasons of PLL, Crossbones and Mom. I might have blind bought Crossbones, but not with BF in 2-3 days.

Also saw The Following S3, Major Crimes S3, Men of a Certain Age S2, Mike and Molly S3 and S4, Originals S1, Parenthood S3 and 2 Broke Girls S1.

Re: Big Lots Part 11 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

I believe I've mentioned this before, but if anyone still wonders what happened to Big Lots great selection of $3 dvd's (especially classic Warner):

I get the bi-weekly oldies.com emails. All the same cool titles BL used to get at $3 are now at oldies from $4-$12. This has been the case for quite awhile.

I wish I could have gotten those prices when I was a dvd retailer. I have no clue how Oldies does it.

I believe WB and other studios offer up wholesale lots of older inventory at auction. The highest bidder gets it.

Re: Big Lots Part 11 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

My last point was I have no idea how Oldies can sell them for much higher prices then I was able to. Most of their "clearance" titles are cheaper on Amazon & ebay.

I stopped buying from them a few years back for that very reason. They are like other vendors - TCM store, History Channel store, and The BBC store for sure - whose "sale" prices are higher than Amazon "everyday" prices plus they have much higher shipping and higher "free" shipping minimums than other vendors. Unless you take advantage of one of their x/$xx sales on the Alpha titles *and* purchase enough to trigger free shipping you can usually get even those cheaper from Amazon.

I just wish BL would get *something* of interest again. I look almost every time I'm in the store but feels like it's the same 50 or so titles being restocked *again* with most being newer titles, or older MC TV sets, that sell for the same, or less, at lots of other stores.
