This is from an insert found in a recent order and states 10% off new releases, but it took 18% off of my order of Hannibal Season 2 and Godzilla 3D.

I ordered the new Ken Burns 7 disc BD Roosevelts box set and it gave me more than 10% too. The set is on sale for $71 and the code took an even $10 off. They added 2.99 for shipping for a total of $63.98, but even with the shipping, it's still a bit under 50% off the list price of $130.

Used code four times for new releases and pre-orders and saved $10.00 on each order. The discount increases from 10% to $10.00 at some threshold -- but it seems you have to have at least one pre-order in your cart.

Did anyone check out the order status after making the order?

I ordered two items. I found the site to be "flacky" in that sometimes when adding new items it would correct itself and go back to a true 10%. In the end I had it was providing me with a $10 discount on a $35 purchase with $2.99 shipping. Previously shipping would have been free in this scenario, but the discount was good enough to continue with. However, when I went back to check the order in the order status the shipping went up to $5.98 ($2.99 per item). The deal is still better than what i would have gotten from Amazon, but not as good as originally thought.

I would recommend checking the order status, if you haven't verified it already. It makes me wonder if DD is reorganzing to follow the ImportCD's model with lower prices than anyone else, but higher shipping and handling costs.

At this point I'm not sure I would trust DD. My order price at checkout was $29, but the online order status was $32. I called DD to find out why the shipping went up from $2.99 to $5.98 and discovered that the internal price they had on their system was $38. Three different prices was a bit much for me, so i cancelled my order.

I would check to verify not just the pending charge on your CC, but the actual charge when shipped just to make sure it is the deal you thought it was. DD explained they are rolling out a new system and discovering a few bugs, which would explain why the discount code was providing odd results.

As for the $2.99 shipping on an order over $25, DD is now adopting a similar policy as ImportCDs where some releases fall into the heavy category and result in an additional charge. Basically, any season of a TV show is going to qualify for the additional charge of $2.99 since it is multiple disks.

I am aware that DD has fallen into disrepute in recent years, but I have placed a couple of orders recently and they went flawlessly with the fastest shipping I have encountered in a very long time. Further, I have a shipping notice on my order from Tuesday morning, so this time looks good, too. Things change.

Over the last few months I've made a few orders with DD as well with no issues. I don't have an issue with DD. What I am describing is changes that they have made within their computer system within the last few days. I'm sure the bugs will get corrected in due time. But when I receive three different amounts for the same order, that's enough for me to wait it out a bit until they get the bugs worked out.

My warning is mainly to monitor what you actually get charged for any current orders, just in case. That is all.

Note that DD is owned & operated by wholesaler Super D, as are around 5-10 other major net retailers.

All 4 of my orders seem to be correct - they reflect $10.00 off for using the coupon, free shipping and have totals that agree with my bank account. I'll keep an eye on them though. Thanks

Just tried to use the coupon again to see what my discount might be on an item. I believe the Promo Code box has been disabled. Is anyone else having this problem?

When I ordered I had one price. Today I received a shipment notice and it was a higher price. I logged in to the DD site and it shows a third price between the original and the price in the email. I checked my CC account and it shows the original price so I'll watch that and make sure nothing changes.

Off topic - but when did dd stop selling books? I was going to throw in one to bring my order total up and found there was no book department. I just received an order of books last month.
