Re: VCI Black Friday Sale 55% off list price
They used to have great sales before they latched onto this percentage off the SRP business. I guess with the declining market they just can't afford substantial discounting anymore. Two years ago they had a great Black Friday sale with $4.99 titles that were not part of their same old bargain bin selections. Oh well, if anyone finds good deals, please post.

Given the current market, is 55% a good deal? That is, are VCI likely to have a better sale in the next 45 days? For once, a VCI sale is happening concurrently with a time when I want to buy some VCI titles.

55% is the highest percentage off they have had in the past two years. It's unlikely they will go any higher in the near future. But I have no inside information, just basing this on their pattern of sales for the past two years which has always maxed out at 50% off SRP.

Good enough. I just placed a small order. In contrast to historical complaints, the checkout process worked without a glitch. I'd originally wanted 5 DVD's, but one is now out of print ("Meet John Doe") and the other has gone DVD-R ("The Amazing Mr. X"), so I bought just three
Horrors of the Black Museum / The Headless Ghost
The Prowler
Svengali
The latter is a double feature, and although it's sold out on Amazon (with the bloodsuckers asking $75+ for new copies), VCI has them on clearance for $4.49. Includes the 1954 version and the 1931 version as a bonus...or maybe the other way around? I'm concerned that it's a DVD5 with high compression, but at this price I'll take the chance.
