I like Darren McGavin a lot (I love The Night Stalker series), and I didn't even know he did this series. Nevertheless, I'm so backlogged with stuff I haven't watched I can't justify buying anything I haven't seen unless it's super dirt cheap which would have to be under $10. I'm in no hurry on this one.

Doubtful as I don't think any A&E released series have EVER been reported at Big Lots.

But several A&E series have been reported at Dollar General for $10, including the newer Mike Hammer series. So I don't think waiting for a discount on this title is too far of a stretch. That and A&E also has online blowouts when a title reaches a certain age as well.

Ben, I've never been to a Dollar General store, don't have any where I live. I did find the 90's version of MIKE HAMMER for $5.00 at Big Lots, but I don't remember it being produced by A&E. The only A&E discounts I've ever seen have been for documentaries and History Channel DVDs, but never for an older show like this original HAMMER series. In any case, I hope it does get discounted at some point.

I was surprised A&E even released it given that they haven't done an older series in quite awhile.

Amazon was selling this for $29.99 during the holiday. I was eyeballing it for a month and just when I was about to pull the trigger, it jumped back up in price. I may just wait for a lower price but thanks anyway.

I picked this up for about 30 on eBay and it thought it was the right price for this series.
It's fun at not a huge outlay for this price.

Never saw these as I was actually too young (1958 DOB) but I'll give this set a try after reading some reviews. Placed an order and I don't know how or where it came from but Amazon listed my account as having a $30.00 promotional discount!!! Final price with shipping...$2.49! Thanks OP

I picked it up at Costco today for that price. I'm not such a Spillane/Hammer fan, but the box says that McGavin plays it tongue-in-cheek and I am a fan of his, so it was probably worth it for $25.
