Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

So I went back to BL and wouldn't you know it they had the TV on DVD titles in the $6 bin.
So I bet that they put them out for Black Friday instead of on Thursday as advertised.

I was hoping for MacGyver season 5, but all they had was season 1.
So I settled on the last 3 seasons of Walker, Texas Ranger.

Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Went to my Big Lots this morning and got 3 seasons of JAG for $6 each so I was happy, and surprised they still had any. I almost got the 3 seasons of Walker, Texas Ranger they had but decided to pass. It's a show I wouldn't mind having but I was more interested in JAG and I have spent a little bitmore online this week so far than I thought I would.

Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

I've been awake for over 22 hours, so sorry, very few specifics. I hit 5 BL's. 2 believed they did not get the TV display, though knowing how BL works, it's certainly possible it's sitting in their back rooms & they don't know it. The other 3 were quite picked over on the TV displays.

Re the $1.88's: obviously, i was only at one of the 5 stores when it opened, but at least here (Pierce County & South King County WA), the $1.88's were going quite slowly. The only major differences I saw from one display to another were varying MGM midnight movie titles. Otherwise, all were pretty much the same. There were 3 Outer Limits the new series 1 disc titles, I THINK I only saw them at 1 or 2 of the 5.

Puyallup had less than 1/2 of their usual dvd quantity. I was told by an ast. manager it wasn't so much because of crazy sales, but that they weren't getting the quantities sent to them the last 2 months that they were used to. Federal Way was the same, I'd never seen their dvd stock so low either.

Will try to add more after I wake up.

Thanks for the info on the $1.88 dvds...sounds like more interesting stuff than 99% of the $3.00 Dvds.

Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Yeah, I wasn't expecting much, but found some good deals downtown in LA.

Petticoat Junction S1 (only 1 copy left and I got it)
Hawaii-Five 0 S1 among others. (Did not see S1 last year)
Jag S3 and some others
Charmed - not sure

But the $1.88 dics had some surprises like mentioned above - Phibes Rises Again, Attack of the Puppet People, and some others that I passed at $5, but got today. I assume these will be this price until they run out or will they yank unsold stock tonight?

As of today: Tucker, Snellville, Lawrenceville, Duluth, and Alpharetta. PM if you have any questions. I didn't see ANY at the Duluth location...not even a display. There were single displays back to back...slim pickings...I called Roswell and an employee told me basically the same titles we've mentioned already...

They should leave them out at that price until sold. I've never known BL to pull unsold DVD stock.

Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Stopped at one store this morning, after being up all night at other stores. Didn't see any TV series, but found a couple $1.88 titles that I wanted to buy but didn't feel like waiting in a line that stretched around the store. I assume since the DVDs actually had $1.88 price tags, they'd still be there this weekend anyway.

I think it's the 24-26, and you can use the $10 coupon from the 27th til December 10th.

Ok cool. I went to the Marietta (Canton Road) one this morning and was able to get 3 seasons of JAG, so I was happy. May have to go and hit a couple others to see if I can find any of season 1 and 5-10 (If anyone has ever seen those there yet).

Cool! I was also able to score season CSI 2-4 today too . They must have only left one copy of each per store.

Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

If anyone got the $10 coupon, it says that you must produce your receipt to use your coupon and something like returns count toward your coupon value. If anyone finds out, please let me know:

1. Will the coupon work without the receipt?
2. If you use the coupon, but later return something on the same receipt, will it not give you your money back to the extent of the coupon? Thanks

No line at mine to get in, but a long line for the cashiers. Of the three cashiers, all they had open was two and everyone was forced into one long line. Finally they got another cashier, probably one of the employees who were just walking around before doing nothing, at register #3. It took a good 30 minutes or so just to get to the registers. The line snaked around to about half way to the back of the store.

Big Lots simply isn't designed to handle BF crowds.

I was very surprised to encounter a pretty large line yesterday at the first store i went to. Another store told me they had also had a line; the clerk told me the cause was their price on tablets (I didn't even notice it in the add!).

Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

From two stores in the northern Georgia area, I picked up:

$1.88
Theather of Blood
A Bucket of Blood
X-15
The Great Escape
The Outer Limits: Robots/Androids Collection

Saw, but already had:

License To Kill
Star Trek-Abrams
Pink Panther volume 3

For $5.00, I picked up volume 2 of the Paramount TV holliday collection.

I also seen multiple copies of the Odd Couple season 2 and other television box sets.

This stuff is moving sort of slow, so there should be some merchandise left.

dvdsearch4me and Slinkster65, thanks for the info! Still can't figure out why stores wouldn't get them unless they did indeed go on sale a week early as I saw in Union City.
I worked at Waldenbooks and Borders, and there would have been hell to pay putting something on sale early. We carefully checked street dates of books, cds, DVDs...Of course, they are both gone now and Big Lots is thriving!
I also hear there is a guy that hit the Fayetteville store yesterday that will literally fill up a shopping cart with DVDs. He also goes to other stores...which might explain why some stores look like they have returned half their inventory!

There weren't many $1.88's left, but found the 2 dvd Fish Called Wanda, a double feature with Return to Me and At First Sight, and Love at Large with Tom Berenger and Elizabeth Perkins.

Try the Dalton and Oglethorpe areas. For simple directions, jump on I-75 going North. If you end up in Chattanooga, you went to far.
