I saw those same ones in a small display today. Disappointing prices. They'd hardly be worth picking up if I had a coupon of some kind.

I just got back from the BL here. They had that same small display and it was *almost empty*!?!? I checked the regular waterfalls to see if they'd just been moved and they had not. I don't get people paying those inflated prices for those series when they regularly go on sale for half that.

I'd pay $7.25 a season for Breaking Bad (however, no way in Hades I'll pay $14.50 a season!). I've seen the entire series, but don't own the dvd's.

There are reports of new Blu-ray titles showing up. I haven't personally seen any of the new BDs at local stores, however.

Saw those here in sunny California. Also spotted a few titles distributed by Magnolia Home Entertainment:

Merantau DVD $3
Serious Moonlight DVD $3

Did see those $20 season sets. I guess BL media buyers are trying to snag a few impulse shoppers?

Saw these today too. What's really crazy is they're the 1st few seasons of these shows: Seasons 1 and 2 of Supernatural, Big Bang, Pretty Little Liars and Breaking Bad. Can't see them selling for that much.

I wasn't there, so can't say for certain, but would bet it's the comedy with Meg Ryan, Timothy Hutton, and Kristen Bell.

These are completely overpriced as one can get these specific season for half that pr even less at other retail outlets. What's happened to this store as of late?!

Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

I'm also hearing a lot of complaints from employees that many of them are getting their hours cut; to as low as 10 hours a week.

And there expansion into fresh & Frozen food is higher priced then several regular grocery stores.

Wonder if they got a clueless new CEO?

There's one other piece of information I was given that illustrates a really screwed up company. I don't feel comfortable sharing it; as it could potentially id the source to a Big Lots exec & cause the source a serious hardship. Trust me that it's not good, though. It's from A BL Manager I've known for years.

Saw Dark Crystal 2 Disc Special Edition with Lenticular cover for $3. Would have bought if I didn't already own the blu. Otherwise everything seemed kind of high...

Funny, I realized last weekend that I had not been inside BigLots in over a month, maybe two. I used to go there at least once a week. I needed some cheap toiletries and went there last Saturday. It seemed to have lost it's coolness factor. There were no esoteric overstock items like they used to have. It was all just ordinary stock, most of it priced higher than elsewhere. I looked at a few DVDs and saw the aforementioned season sets, but I bought the Blu-rays of Breaking Bad online cheaper than these DVDs a couple of years ago. The refrigerator case was a new addition and I could not believe the prices. They were higher than a convenience store. I think Big Lots' best days are behind them (not unlike myself).

Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Like DeepSleep mentioned, Magnolia seems to be "dumping" a bunch of their older catalogue titles into Big Lot's $3 bins.

I've seen:

* bought this title

"2 Days in New York"
"360"
"Blackthorn"
"The Burning Plain"
"District 13: Ultimatum" *
"District B13" *
"Dynamite Warrior"
"Flawless" *
"Good Neighbors" *
"The Life Before Her Eyes"
"Main Street" *
"Night Catches Us" *
"The Perfect Host"
"Serious Moonlight"
"What Just Happened"

With how many of their films they seem to have, I'm hopeful at some point Big Lots carries the "Pusher" trilogy or some of their hard to find documentaries/foreign title for a good price.

Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Has anyone seen a clearance sign recently? Someone on blu-ray.com reported seeing some clearance titles. It appears to be:

70% off black stickers
50% off orange and purple stickers
30% off brown stickers

I did find a couple of $5 blu-rays with black stickers that rang up $1.50.

^It's been at the store here for a few weeks but few titles actually work with the sale. It seems to be there to clear out all those TVonDVD titles they put in last October/November (or earlier?) and a *few* others. I found a dozen or so titles that worked with the sale but nothing I'd not already purchased *months* back.

Which wave was that? Is that Chuck/Fringe/Friends and so on? Or is it House/The Office/Friday Night Lights?

That would be the Chuck/Fringe/Friends group.
