I trekked to another store and found Like Crazy, finally.

Also saw:
Rebel w/out a Cause 2-Disc
Aviator 2-Disc
Poseidon 2-Disc
LOTR 70's animated
The Witches

and a few others such as one Ronald Reagan movie whose name I've since forgotten. Sorry.

It seems weird; everyone except BL is dropping media prices; BL is raising there's!

I saw two complete sets of Chuck on the shelf yesterday, along with some extras of Season 4 and 5. They were priced at $8.

Yeah I saw that too. I think I would've bought it if the disc wasn't loose. It was pretty cool, I thought.

Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Saw a new one-sided waterfall display of kids titles today. It was mostly Bob the Builder, Thomas the train and Barney. No Black Friday display, so I guess they're holding it for the actual day.

Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Need some help-advice:

I seen the Saturday Night Fever digipack that was
mentioned above and also a non digipack version
at the same location. Is the digipack like a collectors
item? Or is it just a different packaging. Love that movie
and im debating which one I should get. Both are $5

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

They have a $5 off $25 Buzz club coupon that's good Wednesday only. If they have the Black Friday display out early, I might use it.

I can't answer this.

But I can give a similar - "John Carpenter's The Thing".

In 2004 the film was given a second DVD, now in a digipak with transparent slipcover (also now in anamorphic widescreen, just a note; not relevant to the story).

The third release came a year later. The '04 disc was put into a standard case - this was the very same DVD, just a repackaging. The price also dropped a bit, from $19.98 to $14.99 (yes, I kept records; part of my DVD library index, original retail price list).

A similar thing my have happened to "Saturday Night Fever". If that were the case; I would go with the digipack, I recall it having the flashier packaging.

Just to finish "The Thing"; the digipak had an error. There was a flap inside, but no insert. None were issued. I ended up finding at Big Lots! the first DVD edition some years back (same extras/content, minus anamorphic). I gave it a shake and heard the sound of a booklet. I took that and placed it under the flap.

Now that I think about it; I need to do that for the 2005 re-re-release.

The power of being anal.

One of the two "Ma and Pa Kettle" volumes also had a flap with no insert. This was when they had a ton of Universal DVDs at Wal-mart for $4.88. When I found out mine had no insert, I checked inside 2 more copies and neither of those had inserts either.

Collectability be damned. FWIW, me personally, I'd always choose a keepcase over a crappy digipack (just as I'd pick a CD in a jewel case over one in a digipack). If, for no other reason, just because they offer better protection for the discs.
Digipacks were shoved down the public's throats as "collectibles" and "green/eco". But, in truth, they were only created to save the studios/record companies on manufacturing costs (paper is cheaper than plastic) and shipping costs (paper is lighter than plastic).

Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Just hit the local BL (Pearl St Tacoma, WA). The manager on duty told me ALL BF dvd's & blu's were out. With the coupon I managed to spend a little over $22 for resale. It's safe to say that BL doesn't expect DVD's to be a big BF seller this year..........

The first warner tv set I bought today scanned at $5 so I don't think you have to buy in increments of 2 to get them for $5 even though it states you must in ad.

There are tons of dvds at the Fayetteville Ga store, and 99% of it (save the the same tv sets that have been around for months) is worthless. They just put up clearance tags with different colors(should have taken a pic) but most of the crap isn't even in the 4 colors shown above.
I guess since they can't sell crappy dvds, they decided not to bother ordering in any good titles :/

I picked up a bunch of $2.88 blu-rays today:

Thanks for the detailed list, deet.

I saw most, if not all, of those at the NoHo store on Vineland Ave this morning. As well as the animated Cat in the Hat and Eggs & Ham blu-rays.... all packed into one, lone, single, tiny waterfall display. Oh, how I miss the good old days....
