Many CBS/Paramount and Sony TV series sets have been turning up at Pilot Truck Stops and Flying J Truck Stops. I've been at 3 stores in the Central Ohio area (along Route 70) and have purchased Seasons 1, 2 and 3 of "Mannix" and Season 2 of "The Invaders" at $12.99 per set.
I've also spotted various seasons of "Vegas", "Streets of San Francisco", "Cannon", "Petticoat Junction", "Dave's World", "Wings", "Good Times", "What's Happening?", "Police Woman", "The Rookies" and "S.W.A.T." (The first season of "S.W.A.T." is housed in a tin that could be used as a weapon.) All are $12.99 each.
For $14.99, I also saw Season 1 of the original Bill Cosby series from Shout Factory.

The Flying J buffet near the King's Dominion exit in VA on 85 is awesome. Always stop there for lunch on the way down south.

Finally! I was hoping some of those sets would get cheap sooner or later. I'd love to get my hands on all of the Streets of San Francisco, Vegas, and Petticoat Junction ones I could find.

i would love to buy the mannix sets, streets of san francisco s2 v2(if they have it),and all of the vegas sets. However the closest store from me is 1 hour away.

Went over to the local Pilot this morning, and managed to find Mannix Season 2 for $12.99. Tried finding season 1 and 3, but was running late for work, so had to go. I plan on going back tomorrow. The only problem is that all the sets are dumped into one of those metal walmart bins, and you have to dig around to see what's under what. Oh well, for this price, it's worth the extra effort. Thanks OP for the heads up!

I think this might be going big. I found Mod Squad S1 Set 1 at Big Lots today for $10. Maybe CBS is shifting some series that didn't really sell that well?

You might be able to find some of the Petticoat Junctions at the Warren or Madison Heights stores. They were there a month or so ago.

This is good news. I've been waiting for this title to drop for years. I won't make any truck stops, but it's looking like this title might finally clearance ... and might show up at Big Lots, etc.

Cracker Barrel has a lot of TV sets along these lines, esp. the more family oriented shows.

Yes the Paramount sets that sell for 10.00 each at Big Lots. Seasons 1 and 2. They also had a couple different seasons of Laverne and Shirley too.

The sets at Cracker Barrel are not typically discounted.
They just carry Nostalgic TV but at regular pricing......

They usually carry the nostalgic stuff but most of them are at MSRP, but those sets the Pilot Truck Stops are a great deal.

They were skunked by the time I got there. Bummer.

But good news! There's a Pilot Truck Stop nearby. I may hit it tomorrow and see what they have. Joy!

Aw.. Have you tried Sterling Heights or East Point?
They had some good titles there too but resellers may have gotten to them. I know Novi had a bunch of the titles that showed up around Christmas in late April because they had a grand opening at that store and got a full shipment of the cardboard trays. I never did make it to anything south of 696 with the exception of Farmington Hills.
Be sure to report back what you find in the Pilot stock if it is anything other than what I already listed .

Man, what a weird retailer to get these! Weird in that I wouldn't think a lot of folks shopping there would expect to find TVsets....
as for Cracker Barrel...sometimes they have some clearance DVDs that are only brought out for their once or twice a year sidewalk sale(that's what someone there told me) but they had a few boxes in back and were nice enough to bring them out for me. Only found 2 shows , but better than nothing. you do have to double check, since their spinning racks will have best of dvds mixed in with complete seasons...
