Re: ABC Television on DVD Deals?

I posted my little experience in the Target thread, but I figure I should post it here as well.

Just got back from Target. Came away with an excellent haul on the ABC shows that I watch.

Came in with 2 $10 off coupons as mentioned in my previous post. Had to make a few trips in and out to accomplish this.

1st trip:

Off the Map $9.99
Private Practice season 4 $14.99

Minus $20 in coupons

Total= $4.98+ tax= $7.17

Went to the car and opened them up and got 2 more coupons, so I went back in again.

2nd trip

Castle season 3 $19.99
Cougar Town season 2 $14.99

Minus $20 in coupons

Total= $14.98+ tax= $18.04

Went back to the car and opened them up again, low and behold, got 2 more coupons. So back in 1 more time.

Final trip

Brothers and Sisters Final season $19.99
Desperate Housewives season 7 $19.99

Minus $20 in coupons

Total= $19.98+ tax= $23.48

Spent a grand total of $48.69 for 6 ABC TV on DVD sets that I needed.

According to my receipts, I saved $163 with the coupons and sale price.

And I got 2 more coupons from my final trip.

For those who want to know which sets have the coupon, it's the ones that have a sticker that says:

"Save Up to $25 on Other Hit Shows and Merchandise"

Good luck to anyone who wants to stock up on these.

^ Good haul! If you aren't going to use one of your remaining coupons, I'll gladly take one off your hands!

Re: ABC Television on DVD Deals?

Seems like most of the ones without the stickers also have the coupons (none of the ones I got yesterday had stickers, and all but my Castle S3 came with another coupon). Already had Private Practice, Body of Proof and Greys (won the first two in contests). So used 3 coupons to pick up DH, CT & B&S at Best Buy. Then hit Target and used the new coupons for Castle & Off The Map to complete my set. Also used the other/new coupons to get a couple free copies of Off The Map and Body of Proof for gifts. So only spent $35 (no sales tax in NH) yesterday plus and got like 9 sets!

Re: ABC Television on DVD Deals?

2011 ABC shows
Target total 52.41 after coupons /7 sets $7.49 per season
Private Practice 4 $14.99
Brothers And Sisters: Season 5 $19.99
Castle: Season 3 $19.99
Desperate Housewives: Season 7 $19.99
Grey's Anatomy: Season 7 $19.99
Body Of Proof: Season 1 $9.99
Off the Map Complete Series $9.99

Ending up going to a second Target since the one closed to me only Brothers and Sisters had the coupons. For others in the Cincinnati area the Fields Ertel location had coupons for most of the sets as of Monday afternoon. The Marburg only had coupons on Brothers and Sisters. Probably won’t have gotten Body of Proof or Off the Map but figured why not since only paying tax after coupon. Off the Map is a blind buy. This is better then last year since I was able to get all sets with coupons.

Re: ABC Television on DVD Deals?

Ended up picking up Off the Map. Kicking myself for not saving my Cougar Town S2 receipt, as I bought it release week and haven't watched it yet.

Desperate Housewives S8 (9/25)
GCB S1 (6/12)
Grey's Anatomy S8 (9/4)
Missing S1 (6/12)
Once Upon a Time S1 (8/28)
Private Practice S5 (9/11)
Revenge S1 (8/21)
The River S1 (NOW)
Scandal S1 (6/12)

Re: ABC Television on DVD Deals?

cool, thanks for the heads-up--will need to pick up The River for $8.99 at best buy and get a coupon--these things usually end up being like $10 or less (some free) with the coupons in November/December.

Re: ABC Television on DVD Deals?

Awesome. Thanks for the headsup.

I might pick up The River and just hang on to the coupon until the cheap sale at Target happens later this year.

Is there any way to get the coupon without installing the coupon printer?

Well, you could buy The River, or these sets will probably also contain a coupon. But if you want to print a coupon there's no way around installing the coupon printer since it's needed to generate the unique code. I print a lot of these online coupons so I don't really have any issues with installing the coupon printer. You could always remove it after printing.

I really hate the coupon printer because I don't have the authority to install anything on my work computer (you need a password that IT never gives out). Too bad disney doesn't have a smartphone app like Target for coupons like this (plus it would save a lot of paper)

I just looked at the ad. It doesn't mention anything about an instant $15 off if you buy all 3. It just mentions the coupons.

It was a nice surprise when i went to the store--there was a sign by those DVDs in the store--said it ran thru 7/7 (i think). There was also a buy 2/save $10? option but at that point, the 3rd one is free anyway.

Re: ABC Television on DVD Deals?

Yup Best Buy has the three new ABC Releases Missing, GCB and Scandal Season 1 for $19.99 (Buy 2 save $10, Buy 3 save $15) and they allow the use of the coupons too!!

So each is $14.99 (if you purchase all 3 on same receipt) and use each $10 coupon - so $4.99 each + tax out the door!!!!

Great Deal Best Buy!!!

Re: ABC Television on DVD Deals?

Plus, I assume you are getting 3 $10 off coupons for the other ABC shows which will come out later this year. Although I will have to wait until those drop for them to actually be deals (since they will undoubtedly be more expensive)
