Well, I've spent a lot, but the Borders around here in Southeastern Michigan are picked the fuck clean.

I got lucky with my final trip to the Ann Arbor Lohr location: the original 'Edge of Darkness' DVD set for a princely $10.80. Almost as good as 'Life on Mars: Complete Collection' for $30, but now there's nothing really left but the shit Borders shouldn't have bought in the first place. Such is life.

The Borders in the Time Warner Center in NYC had a sign saying last 3 days today. I guess it is closing Wednesday. Almost everything is 80% or 90% off but I couldn't find anything to buy.

FYI, Borders has a store closing date list here, but I think you need to 'like' them on facebook to see it.

Can't know for sure of course (what we each look for is subjective and reflective of our own tastes), but having just been there (and followed your posts for awhile), I think you'll probably find a trip to Puyallup a waste of your time. Good luck though!

Just visited the Springfield, VA, store--if it's typical, then there is no point to going to any more Borders stores before they close. The joint was nearly cleaned out--zero DVDs, and just a few racks of books.

Went to Puyallup & Redmond Wa today. First, wmhgreen48 was right, there was basically NOTHING left at Puyallup. I then went to to Redmond, where they had about 100 cd's, (I bought 5), 10 dvd's & a lot of books.

I also think I found out why this wave was different at least in my state:

As I may have posted before, during the last wave the Tacoma Wa store still had 100's of cd's (mostly high end classical & quality indie) left at 90% off; both these stores were cleaned out at 80. Redmond told me that a few days ago, some B&M cd chain from Denver flew in & cleaned all the stores out. I was told they spent $2500 at Redmond alone (@ 70%). I would ASSUME they hit other states as well.
