Maybe not the most red-hot deal around, but it's still more than 50% off.

It's 24.49. Did it go up already or is that a mistake in your title? I might have grabbed it at 22.49 but I can beat 24.49 at the next B&N sale.

There is a review on the Amazon page which makes this release sound extremely disappointing. Perhaps they will re-master it for a BD release in the future with a better transfer, instead of a copy of the old laserdisc...

Yep, I read that review. Turns out that the man criticizing the A/V quality---and expressing regret that Criterion didn't utilize a certain piece of video imaging equipment to improve it---is actually the creator of said equipment. That does alter my opinion of his review...but yes, I'm sure Criterion could've done a little more with the material at hand.
In any case, I'd gladly shell out for a fully remastered Blu-Ray, but I doubt it's high on Criterion's "to-do" list.
