There are definitely DVDs included too... I don't have a list, but Eclipse Series 26: Silent Naruse was in my cart and just dropped to 56% off.

I bought the Dearden set, but Naruse would be cheaper with a $8 coupon during B & N's sale.

The Amazon title is incorrect; it's actually a 5 disc set.

I'm tempted to get Pandora's Box but I seem to recall rumors of a Blu-ray version coming this year? Anyone else heard that or am I imagining it?

That Criterion quote is from June 2010 though. Pandora's Box underwent a restoration last year, so any HD master would likely be taken from that.

Thanks for the head's up. I'll stick with my current UK dvd of P's B until the new restoration hits dvd; I wasn't aware of it.

Thanks for the heads up, OP! I ordered the Basil Dearden set I've been lusting for since it came out, but that I was too cheap to get until now.

Night on Earth is $18.49 for anyone interested in purchasing that classic Jim Jarmusch film. It's one of my personal favorites.

Ordered Basil Dearden's London Underground/22.49 - White Material/14.99 - Topsy-Turvy/14.99 - Silent Naruse/19.99 - Senso/13.99 - Sweet Smell of Success/17.99 - Broadcast News/14.49. Plus the Prisoner and Secret Agents sets. For me, no sense waiting for a BN sale which might save me a couple of bucks. I want them now.

This set is in my Gold Box today. Is it worth a blind buy?

I paid about that much for it as a blind buy at a used record store, and was very pleased with it. Two great movies, and two others that are pretty good. If you have any love for screwball comedy, pre-code films, or musicals, then go for it.
