FYI - Though COACH S1 is only $8 at Big Lots, but you can get COACH S1 & S2 as a bundle for $19.99 at Best Buy. Best Buy has a similar deal with SLIDERS S3 & S4 - when only SLIDERS Season 4 showed up at Big Lots.

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
It was a few months ago in my area, around the time The Girl on the Bridge and The Possession of Joel Delaney popped up. Most of the stores in my area haven't had any new Legend titles since then. I was out of town when I found most of them. We do have a store with a rack full of Heavy Metal 2000 Superbit, though...

Looks like the new batch finally made it here. Picked up:
Groundhog Day
The Relic
Grosse Pointe (finally)
Being Julia
However, other than Grosse Pointe (and only 2 of those), I didn't see any new sets.

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
Another store recieved their Sony/Universal shipment yesterday. I was happy to add two more titles to the library; a western that had evaded me the last time around and one very pleasant surprise.
Whispering Smith 1949 w/Alan Ladd in Technicolor (Some of you were perhaps lucky to find this a few months back.)
We Were Strangers 1949 w/ John Garfield & Jennifer Jones (I have wanted to see this John Huston film for a long time. Boy, do I like finding these unexpected gems a lot, or should I say, a big lot!)

BTW High School High and My Stepmother Is An Alien were originally released as 2-sided discs with both widescreen and foolscreen, but unbelievably Sony reissued those along with several other titles with ONLY the foolscreen versions, so people who bought new Sony widescreen TVs could watch them with black bars on the sides.

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
I saw The War at Home Season One for $3 tonight at the local Big Lots. A search of the forums tells me this was common in stores last summer. I've been going to this Big Lots once a week for the past 3 months so I know it wasn't there in that period. I hope this is a sign that some of the other sets that were found last summer might be retuning. I doubt it but I can hope.

Bobby Deerfield
Buried Alive
The Fall
If Lucy Fell
Impact Point
In God's Hands
Past Midnight
Tortured
True Believer
The Wackness

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
And having the old DVD and having watched the P&S briefly, I remember the P&S version is badly cropped. If memory serves this was filmed in 2.35:1 Panavision, so don't take a non-LBX version which I think is all Big Lots has. It was uncool of Sony to repackage many of their DVD-10 flippers removing the letterbox version and only giving the "foolscreen" version... sometimes only open matte but sometimes badly cropped depending on the movie. Even worse was reading (more than once) that some people were buying Sony widescreen packages only to find a repackaged "foolscreen" DVD-5 inside. It would be good to open any of those repackaged Sony ones within 30 days in case you need to return it as defective (which it would be). I don't have a full list, but there must be one somewhere. I got the ones I wanted before they got repackaged. Good old Sony! DVD-5 is bad enough, but "foolscreen" DVD-5 is E-V-I-L (in my opinion).

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)
The local Big Lots received the mother lode.
I picked up:
Baghead
Nurse Betty
All The Pretty Horses
Don't Come Knocking
The Band's Visit
Tekkonkinkreet
Eating Raoul
The 6th Day (Special Edition)
I also saw, but alas could not afford:
The Science of Sleep
Running With Scissors
Curse of the Golden Flower
Art School Confidential
Teenage Caveman
Secret Ballot
Kabluey
Still Crazy
Wieners
Mary Shelley's Frankenstein
I'm sort of regretting some of the questionable purchases I've made in the past few weeks at Big Lots during a severe dry spell (Bionic Woman and Get Real, to name a few.) But then it's impossible to foresee a great batch like this one.

^If it's been less than 30 days, they're unopened, and you still have the reciept for those "questionable purchases" return 'em and get the ones you really want. If you don't have the reciept(s) ask about exchanges. They'll usually do this as long as it's the same price and type of purchase.

So far today I've s/w 1 store & looked at another & it's mostly various versions of budget public domain box sets ($3, $4 & $8 price points) & some animae.
