I keep passing on this because I have notes saying: "incomplete, edited, and mediocre quality on some shorts" from various reviews. It was $26.99 at Amazon November-December 2010, $22 at Buy.com on BF 2010, $28.49 at Amazon March 2011, and now $26.49 at Amazon.

I still feel like it should be cheaper given that many people say the "Remastered, Restored, and Uncut " banner is a total lie. I think I'll keep waiting.

This might help clarify things - its from a longer and useful wikipedia entry that includes distribution history on VHS and DVD for the Our Gang/Little Rascals titles:

RHI Entertainment and Genius Products released an eight-disc DVD set, The Little Rascals – the Complete Collection, on October 28, 2008. This set includes all 80 Hal Roach-produced Our Gang sound short films. Most of the collection uses the 1994 restorations, while 16 of the shorts are presented with older Blackhawk Films transfers as their remastered copies were lost or misplaced during preparations.

On June 14, 2011, Vivendi Entertainment re-released seven of the eight DVD's from RHI/Genius Products' The Little Rascals - The Complete Collection as individual releases. This includes the 80 shorts - replacing the Blackhawk transfers on the previous set with their respective 1994 restorations - but excludes the disc featuring the extras.

Do we know what those 16 shorts are? Perhaps it may be worthwhile to purchase 2 of the Vivendi discs if many of the 16 missing restored shorts are on the same disc...

After buying it as soon as I saw bacigalup's post...I've now cancelled the order. I started reading of the issues with this set, and I've decided that I'd rather spend a little more and grab the unedited shorts from the Vivendi discs.
