Re: Warner Archive sales
Most of my HG's are lost German Expressionistic silents & maybe a couple more Brigitte Helm films with English subs.
And a decent print of Student Of Prague 1913 (the Alpha is so bad...........)

Archive sales usually exclude their most recent releases and multiple-disc sets. In any event, there's usually better Archive sales out there if you're patient enough.

Re: Warner Archive sales
Usually $10-11 is about the best price you'll get on Archive titles (and you have to buy several to get the deal). Sometimes you may be able to stack another coupon on top of an Archive sale, but it's definitely a case of YMMV.

Re: Warner Archive sales
I bit on B2G1, picked up ...
Gaslight
Macabre
Unholy 3 (1925)
... for $39.90. I think the free shipping sold the deal for me; averaged up to $13.30 per.
Pretty good deal (I was happy with it, at any rate), thanks for the heads-up.

Re: Warner Archive sales
Titles are 25% off right now, so for example Courtship of Eddies Father is $30, and Legend of Billie Jean is $15

Probably the best deal you'll get on the multi-sets. Right now The FBI season one parts 1 and 2 are 29.99 each. That's same price Amazon is charging for Rawhide season 4 parts 1 and 2. So these prices aren't really that far out of line with retail releases of 30+ episode seasons of hour long show split between two volumes.

Re: Warner Archive sales
Possibly so (and I bougth the two Man From Atlantis sets), but last year about this time, I was able to get a multi-disc set for 30% off. I was even able to stack a "$5.00 off" coupon on top of it!
I seriously doubt there'll ever be any 50% off offers on sets, though.

I think it's been a year or so since the SAVINGS code worked on orders of $100 or more. At the time, I was fortunate to combine this with their five for $50 sale and picked up 20 archive titles for $160.

Re: Warner Archive sales
So it must start at midnight ......Finally get to see The Super Cops again, saw it with my dad back in the early 70's. I remember my Dad was embarrassed because of all the F-Bombs, I was all of 12 years old. When we got home my Mom asked him how the movie was and he just kind of grunted under his breath , he really didn't want to talk about it.
This deal is Live , I guess Neighbors is not part of the sale.

Well, I agree on THE POWER anyway though not sure it's a "MUST OWN." Actually the Archive hasn't released any genuine MUST OWNs in horror and sci-fi in my humble opinion. But all the titles rw2516 are good entertainment.
I would recommend a horror title from Columbia called BLACK MOON from 1934, which is very very creepy and uncompromising, especially for its time.

Doggone it! Forgot about Black Moon. It's a Sony title, so the best opportunity to pick it up would have been the just ended 25% off sale.

I agree there are few if any horror/sci-fi genre releases from the archive that would qualify as 'must haves'.
OTOH, the mystery/thriller genres do have some prime candidates like Stranger On The Third Floor.
The Cyclops is a fairly fun B grade monster movie (especially if you like other Bert Gordon films like The Spider and Amazing Colossal Man). Two On A Guillotine was a pretty good thriller, but to label it a horror film in this era is to set it up to be a huge disappointment to new viewers. Of all the Japanese co-produced Gamma station films (Green Slime etc), Wild Wild Planet was the only one that kept my attention till the end. I couldn't wait to sell off Green Slime after I'd finished it. As someone who had no nostalgic attachment to it, it had absolutely nothing of value for me. Even as a good/bad movie it was just tedious. YMMV of course.

There's "The Outfit", -an '70s era adaptation of the Richard Stark crime novel with Robert Duvall and Joe Don Baker. Stark also wrote the novel that "Point Blank" and "Payback" were based on. The novel was recently adapted as a graphic novel by Darwyn Cooke as part of his "Parker" series.
